Gärten’s Suhoor Menu is an Ode to Falafel
You’ve heard of stuffed falafel, but have you heard of falafel turned inside out and spread on a pizza?
Since its opening, multinational eatery Gärten has been committed to combining Western and Eastern cuisines in harmonious matrimony - and what better time to do that than in Ramadan? The restaurant is seizing the opportunity to introduce a wide range of dishes to its suhoor menu this year and it is, essentially, an ode to taameya (or falafel - if you’re Alexandrian, we see you too).
In the hours before dawn, Gärten dishes out all types of taameya, discs embedded with pastrami, Kiri cheese, mozzarella, and more. In fact, they’re offering an all-new shrimp falafel, which is exactly what it sounds like. If you thought that was weird, wait until you hear about the spot’s masterpiece of the month: falafel pizza. The pizza starts off Neapolitan, but instead of the usual tomato sauce, it is covered in taameya dough, and then topped with fresh veggies, pickles, and tahini.
