Kangaroo & Teta Loula to Host 'A Seat at Teta’s Table’ on June 10th

If you've been doomscrolling through Instagram lately, chances are you've come across @tetaloula – the Egyptian grandmother using the kitchen as a space for storytelling, community, and comfort food that tastes and feels like home.

So far, she's hosted a number of pop-up experiences, from last Ramadan's Pop-Up Iftar and Trivia Night in collaboration with Samakblaban, to her signature 'Two Grandmas, Two Tables' gathering in Port Said on June 5th, with another event set for Alexandria on June 19th in collaboration with Teta Anan, featuring a special tour by footnotes by Wafaa and Juan.

But if you thought it ended there, think again. Another pop-up event is already stepping into the spotlight. On Wednesday, June 10th, Kangaroo and Teta Loula are inviting guests to ‘A Seat at Teta's Table’ – an evening of shared stories and homemade recipes inspired by the dishes our grandmothers made best, followed by a breadbasket workshop where attendees can stitch their own baskets to take home.

The dinner will take place at Kangaroo's Downtown Cairo shop, with limited spots available. To reserve yours, feel free to head to @stampedbykangaroo's Instagram page and follow the link in their bio.
