New Cairo's Yew Urban Bakery Drops a Warm Winter Menu

It’s getting cold outside, and New Cairo's Yew Urban Bakery & Specialty Coffee is adding sweet treats that warm you up with each bite. The strawberry Maritozzi and sweet potato crème brûlée are the winter menu additions we didn’t know we needed, whether wrapping your hands around a hot latte at their shop in Madinaty’s Strip Mall, or taking the desserts to go.

You can eat the crème brûlée out of its typical round dish, or in the sweet potato itself, breaking the crisp caramel brittle with a spoon to get at the custard beneath. As for the Maritozzi, Yew mastered Rome’s iconic cream filled pastry inside a brioche bun. So if you can’t decide between the two, bring a friend to split both between you.
