Mohamed Ramadan’s ‘Asad’ to Premiere on Yango Play on August 27th

‘Asad’ will premiere exclusively on Yango Play on August 27th, bringing the 2026 historical action-drama to streaming following its Egyptian theatrical release earlier this year.

Directed by Mohamed Diab, the film stars Mohamed Ramadan, Razane Jammal and Maged El Kedwany, alongside Ali Qassim, Eslam Mubarak, Ahmed Dash and Kamel Al Basha.

Set in 19th-century Egypt, ‘Asad’ follows a defiant enslaved man whose forbidden love becomes the catalyst for a rebellion. The film combines historical drama with romance, social conflict and large-scale action.

The screenplay was written six years ago by Mohamed Diab, Sherine Diab and Khaled Diab, with the project developed as a historical epic centred on resistance and social upheaval.

‘Asad’ first premiered in Egyptian cinemas on May 14th, 2026, and will become available exclusively on Yango Play from August 27th.
