Zawya Cinema Hosts 'The Stories' Q&A With Amir El Masry

Downtown Cairo’s Zawya Cinema is hosting a Q&A with Egyptian star Amir El Masry on his latest film, The Stories, on Tuesday, August 18th. The discussion will be moderated by Egyptian filmmaker Bassam Mortada.

Directed by Abu Bakr Shawky, best known for Yomeddine (2018), the anthology drama sees El Masry play Ahmad, a classical pianist whose dreams are constantly reshaped by corruption and Egypt’s shifting political climate between the 1960s and 1980s.

The film also stars Nelly Karim, Ahmed Kamal, Ahmed Azaar, Khaled Mokhtar, Karim Kassem, Amr Abed, and Austrian actress Valeria Pachner. Mortada, known for the award-winning documentary Abu Zaabal 89 (2025), will lead the conversation with El Masry following the 7 PM screening.
