Cairo Design Award Opens Submissions for Its 8th Edition

The Cairo Design Award (CDA) is now accepting submissions for its 8th edition, inviting designers, architects, creatives and studios from around the world to put their work forward for consideration. Submissions opened on September 12th, with the annual awards ceremony set to take place on December 12th, 2026.

Established in 2017, CDA has grown from a platform connecting Egypt’s design community with the market into an international competition spanning architecture, interiors, product design, fashion and visual communication. This year’s edition is open to students, emerging designers, established studios and industry professionals, giving applicants the opportunity to present their work to an international jury of design professionals.

“CDA has always been about supporting designers and connecting them directly with real opportunities in the market,” says Hisham Mahdy, Founder of the Cairo Design Award. “As we open submissions for our 8th edition, we are looking for work that brings fresh ideas and real value to the design world.”

Dr. Ebtissam Farid, President of CDA, adds that the award’s international outlook is central to its approach. “What makes CDA special is how it connects regional design talent with global perspectives. By welcoming both students and experienced professionals, we create a space where different generations of designers learn and grow together.”

Entries are open across six categories: Interior Architecture & Set Design, Architecture & Urban Design, Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Fashion & Jewelry Design, and Automotive & Industrial Design.

Applicants are asked to submit their digital portfolios through the CDA website. The early bird deadline is October 12th, 2026, while final submissions close on October 30th.
