Hair Stylist Dafayer Lets You Braid Your Hair Like a Baddie
After grabbing the attention of local celebs like Azza Fahmy and Marwan Pablo, Dafayer has continued to keep everyone’s long locks protected with their trademark braiding technique.
Stylist Aya Khaled has not known peace since she learned how to dutch braids in her middle school years. With nothing but passion and home-bred talent, Khaled took to the mainstream hair arena and launched hair studio ‘Dafayer’ in 2018. With two studios in Maadi and Heliopolis, the expert hair stylist has been running around Cairo’s bustling streets, photoshoot hopping and leaving her mark wherever she treads.
After grabbing the attention of local celebs like Azza Fahmy and Marwan Pablo, Dafayer has continued to keep the art scene thriving and everyone’s long locks protected with their trademark braiding technique.
“A lot of questions creep up about how safe it was for the hair,” Khaled tells #CairoScene. “People are constantly worried about the tension and the tugging, asking if it leads to hair loss. I always clarify how protective of a hairstyle it actually is.”
The hair guru does not shy away from experimenting with the traditional plaits. She’s been beading, braiding, and setting like there’s no tomorrow, which means that, for the most part, you can get pooka shells weaves into your cornrows and protect your 4C curls from Marina’s sandy waves. To book your summer do, you can DM the hair experts on insta @dafayer.
