This Campaign Helps Commuters Break Their Fast at the Metro
The programme sees campaigners on the ground distribute snacks to commuters every day throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, whether they're still waiting for their ride or are inside the trains.

For the second year in a row, the Cairo Metro is making their commute a little more Ramadan friendly with the 'Break Fast at the Station' programme. Organised with the Egyptian Food Bank and the Resala Association for Charitable Works, the programme sees campaigners on the ground distribute snacks to commuters every day throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, whether they're still waiting for their ride or are standing cramped inside the trains during the call to prayer.
You can pick up food at ten metro stations along the first and second lines, including Anwar El-Sadat, Al-Shuhada, Ataba, New Marg, Cairo University, Shubra El-Kheima, Faculty of Agriculture, Rawd al-Faraj and Sayeda Zeinab. The campaign aims to distribute at least 5,000 meals before the end of the month.
