Shayb Ghudwanah in Riyadh has been transformed into a greener public destination under the Green Riyadh Program, with the planting of 15,000 native trees and shrubs reducing local temperatures by approximately 5°C compared with the rest of the city.

One of the tributaries of Wadi Hanifah, Shayb Ghudwanah has been rehabilitated as a natural summer destination through a broader environmental restoration project aimed at increasing vegetation cover and enhancing urban quality of life.

The development includes a 5-kilometre natural park along the watercourse and 22 kilometres of walking tracks for pedestrians. Public amenities include seating areas, pedestrian bridges, children's play areas and sports facilities.

According to the programme, the project supports the broader goals of the Green Riyadh Program by expanding green spaces and transforming natural valleys into sustainable destinations for residents and visitors.
