AED 300,000 in Prizes Offered for Dubai Road Safety Film Festival
The competition is open to students, individuals, companies and government entities from August 24th to November 22nd.
The second edition of Dubai’s Road Safety Film Festival is offering AED 300,000 in cash prizes and recognition awards for short films that promote safer behaviour on the roads.
Participation is open to individuals, university students, government entities, private-sector companies and members of the wider community. The competition is looking for short awareness films addressing road safety issues, with a focus on encouraging compliance with traffic laws and discouraging dangerous driving behaviour.
The festival is divided into three main categories. Individuals and university students can compete for Best Road Safety Awareness Film on Safe Driving and Best Innovative Road Safety Awareness Film Using Modern Technologies, with each subcategory awarding AED 30,000 for first place, AED 20,000 for second and AED 10,000 for third.
Government entities and private-sector companies will compete for recognition trophies, while the Community category includes Best Family Road Safety Awareness Film and an award for films featuring the experiences of traffic accident victims. Each of those community awards carries the same AED 30,000, AED 20,000 and AED 10,000 prize structure.
The inaugural edition in 2025 attracted more than 100 entries. Winning films will later be incorporated into traffic awareness programmes, including educational lectures, workshops and road safety campaigns, as well as being shown across RTA digital platforms. The festival forms part of the authority’s broader Traffic Safety and Awareness Strategy, which is guided by a ‘Zero Fatalities’ vision.
Submissions will be accepted from August 24th to November 22nd through the Roads and Transport Authority’s website.
