AI Adoption Among Saudi Businesses Climbed to 33.1% in 2025

Artificial intelligence adoption among businesses in Saudi Arabia reached 33.1% in 2025, marking a 20% increase from the previous year, according to the General Authority for Statistics.

The information and communications sector recorded the highest level of AI adoption at 61.1%, followed by financial and insurance activities at 52.9% and the education sector at 51%.

Transportation and storage businesses posted a rate of 44.4%, while professional activities reached 43.9%. The authority also reported that 98.1% of establishments had internet access in 2025.

Usage of e-government services stood at 93.2%, while 79.1% of businesses used the internet for electronic banking.

Social media platforms were used by 66.3% of establishments, with 52.3% using them to advertise products and services.

Internet of Things technologies were widely adopted across several functions.

Building security applications, including smart alarms, fire detection systems, surveillance cameras and smart locks, recorded the highest usage rate at 71.4%.

Customer service applications accounted for 54.6%, while energy management and maintenance applications stood at 40% and 25.4%, respectively.

E-commerce activity also continued to expand, with 33.5% of establishments using the internet to sell or display goods and services.

The financial and insurance sector recorded the highest share at 48.5%. Among businesses receiving online orders, 28% fulfilled sales digitally.

Cloud computing services were used by 51.3% of establishments.

Among these users, 56.4% relied on cloud-based office software, up 5.4% from 2024, while 55.3% used cloud email services, an increase of 9.9%.

Cloud storage services were used by 42.8% of businesses, up 4.1% year on year.
