Abu Dhabi Customs has won the Digitally Distinguished Government Entity category at the seventh GCC Digital Government Award in Bahrain for its ‘Invisible Customs’ initiative.
According to Abu Dhabi Customs, it was the only government entity from the UAE to receive an award at this year’s edition. The recognition was awarded for its work in digital transformation and the development of technology-driven customs services.
‘Invisible Customs’ is designed to shift customs operations towards a more proactive and automated model by connecting digital systems, data and customs procedures. The initiative aims to reduce manual intervention and conventional administrative steps while speeding up services for customers.
Abu Dhabi Customs said the system is also intended to maintain customs control, compliance and security while improving operational efficiency and the overall customer experience.
The authority said the award adds to previous regional and international recognition for its digital transformation and innovation programmes. It is continuing to work with public and private sector partners on customs systems intended to improve supply chain efficiency and support trade.
