Basic Fixed Internet Package Doubled to 100 GB at Same Price
The EGP 150 monthly fixed internet package will increase from 50 GB to 100 GB without a price rise.
Fixed internet providers have been directed to double the monthly data allowance of their basic package from 50 GB to 100 GB without increasing its EGP 150 subscription price.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced the measure following recommendations from Egypt Forum 2026. The regulator said the change had been announced by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and applies to fixed internet providers.
According to the NTRA, the increase is intended to widen access to internet services while reducing the financial burden on users who rely on larger amounts of data. Customers on the basic tier will receive twice the previous allowance without paying an additional monthly fee.
The regulator said the additional data is also intended to support greater use of digital education, healthcare and government services, alongside broader digital transformation efforts.
