Bus On Demand Service Expanded to Four New Areas in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority has expanded Dubai’s Bus On Demand service to four additional communities: Al Qusais, Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Warqa’a, and Dubai Investments Park.
The expansion follows a sharp increase in ridership, with trips rising by 136% in 2025 to 984,929 journeys, compared to 417,315 in 2024. With the latest additions, the service now operates across 17 areas in Dubai using a fleet of 49 minibuses that connect residential neighbourhoods with Metro stations, bus stops, and commercial districts.
The system operates through the Dubai Bus On Demand app, allowing passengers to book shared rides between dynamically assigned pick-up and drop-off locations rather than fixed bus stops. Routes are adjusted in real time based on demand.
Previously covered areas include Al Barsha, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Al Nahda, Al Karama, and Oud Metha.
Fares are set at AED 5 per trip and AED 4 for additional passengers travelling together. Officials said promotional free rides are being offered during the launch phase to encourage adoption.
