Culture Palaces Host Free Concerts in Egypt's Coastal Cities

More than 240 free concerts and performances will take place across Alexandria, Matrouh, Damietta, Gamasa, Port Said and Hurghada this summer as the Art Beach programme returns to Egypt's coastal governorates.

Organised by the General Authority for Culture Palaces, the programme runs from July 28th through early September, featuring performances by folk arts troupes, Arabic music ensembles, eastern rhythms groups and other traditional performers at theatres, culture palaces and public spaces.

The programme opens in Alexandria on July 28th, with 59 performances scheduled through September 1st at Anfushi Culture Palace, Shatby Culture Palace and the Street of Civilisations in Raml Station. Matrouh will also host 59 performances between July 31st and September 4th, while Damietta will stage 38 performances from August 1st to August 25th.

In Gamasa, 19 performances are scheduled between August 3rd and August 26th, followed by 27 performances in Port Said from August 4th to August 27th. Hurghada will join the programme for the first time, hosting 41 performances at Hurghada Culture Palace between August 5th and August 29th.

The Art Beach programme forms part of the Ministry of Culture's summer activities under the national Culture Is Life initiative, with this year's edition aiming to bring free performances celebrating Egyptian music and folk heritage to audiences across the country's coastal destinations.
