Discover Asir Named Amongst World's Top 10 Culinary Tourism Websites
The platform is the only Saudi and Arab website recognised in the 2026 global ranking.
The Discover Asir platform has been ranked amongst the world's top 10 websites for culinary tourism in 2026 by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT), becoming the only platform from Saudi Arabia and the Arab world to feature on the list.
According to the Asir Development Authority, the platform was recognised by an international panel of experts for its presentation of the region's culinary experiences through digital content, visual media and integrated booking services. The ranking also included tourism platforms from countries including Ecuador, France and Spain.
Developed with support from King Khalid University and the Culinary Arts Commission, the website brings together restaurants, hotels, destinations, cultural events and tourism experiences in a single platform, allowing visitors to explore and plan trips across the Asir region.
The recognition follows Asir's designation as the World Region of Gastronomy in 2024 by IGCAT, making it the first destination outside Europe to receive the title. The Asir Development Authority said the latest ranking reflects the growing international visibility of the region's tourism and culinary offerings through digital platforms.
