Dubai's diamond trade reached a record USD 41.7 billion in 2025, with 359.5 million carats traded, setting new highs for both value and volume, according to figures released by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) based on Dubai Customs data.

The total represents a 16.2% year-on-year increase from USD 35.8 billion in 2024, equivalent to an additional USD 5.8 billion in trade. Since 2020, the value of diamonds traded through Dubai has grown 139%, while trading volume has doubled.

Natural diamonds remained the largest segment, generating USD 39.9 billion and accounting for 95.8% of total trade value. Trade in natural rough diamonds reached 205.2 million carats, the second-highest volume on record and around 34% higher than in 2024, while natural polished diamonds generated USD 18.7 billion, up nearly 25% year-on-year.

Trade in coloured gemstones also reached a record USD 1.1 billion during the year, supported by a 68.8% increase in imports and a 33.5% rise in re-exports. Meanwhile, synthetic and industrial diamonds accounted for around 39% of total diamond trading volume by carat, reflecting a broader mix of products passing through the emirate.
