Dubai Ranks Second Globally in AI-Driven Quality of Life Index

Dubai has ranked second globally in the inaugural Intelligent Cities Index published by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), which evaluates how cities use artificial intelligence and digital technologies to improve services for residents and businesses.

The assessment covered 61 cities across 39 countries, measuring performance across five areas: Outcomes, Strategy, Adoption, Ways of Working, and Enablers. The index uses 35 indicators grouped into 14 dimensions of digital transformation to compare how cities deploy technology to strengthen competitiveness and deliver public services.

Within the index, Dubai ranked first globally for the adoption of AI technologies and smart city solutions, reflecting the widespread integration of artificial intelligence and digital services across multiple sectors.

According to the report, cities that embed AI into public services and day-to-day operations tend to achieve faster and more sustainable improvements in quality of life and service delivery. The study also found that frequent use of generative AI tools is associated with higher levels of public trust and more positive perceptions of the technology's future role.

The report further highlighted the Middle East, including Dubai, as one of the regions showing the strongest enthusiasm for adopting and expanding the use of artificial intelligence.
