Egypt Agricultural Exports Surpass 9.5 Million Tonnes in 170 Markets
The sector has also expanded into 21 new export destinations during the first half of 2026.
Egypt's agricultural exports have surpassed 9.5 million tonnes, with locally grown produce now reaching 170 international markets, according to the latest figures from the agricultural sector.
The total marks an increase of more than 300% compared to the 2.77 million tonnes exported in 2014, reflecting growth over the past 12 years.
During the first half of 2026, Egyptian agricultural exports also entered 21 new international markets, expanding the country's global footprint for fresh produce.
Authorities attributed the growth to continued compliance with international quality requirements and plant health standards, alongside efforts to strengthen Egypt's agricultural export system.
Measures supporting the sector have included the expansion of cultivated land through national agricultural projects, the introduction of a farm coding system to improve traceability, and upgrades to regulatory laboratories responsible for quality and phytosanitary testing.
