Egypt's Garment Exports Reach USD 1.15 Billion in Four Months
Ready-made garment exports rose 15% year-on-year during the first four months of 2026.
Egypt's ready-made garment exports rose 15% year-on-year to USD 1.15 billion during the first four months of 2026, up from USD 1.002 billion during the same period last year, according to the Apparel Export Council of Egypt.
April marked the sector's strongest month so far this year, with exports reaching USD 287 million, representing a 33% increase compared to April 2025.
The United States remained the largest export market for Egyptian garments, with shipments rising 13% to USD 429 million between January and April. European markets accounted for 44.6% of total exports, with shipments to the region increasing 29% year-on-year to USD 512 million.
Among individual markets, exports to Türkiye reached USD 135 million, followed by Spain at USD 102 million, Germany at USD 67 million and the Netherlands at USD 64 million.
Shipments to the United Kingdom totalled USD 42 million, while exports to Italy climbed 95% year-on-year to USD 33 million.
Fadel Marzouk, Chairperson of the Apparel Export Council of Egypt, said the council is targeting annual export growth exceeding 22% through efforts to expand Egypt's presence in Europe and North America and pursue new opportunities in African markets.
