Health Media Diploma Introduced in Egypt Through New Partnership

A professional diploma in health media has been introduced through a cooperation protocol between the National Media Authority and the General Organisation for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes.

The programme is designed to train specialised cadres capable of delivering accurate and reliable health content, with a focus on improving public awareness and strengthening communication between the healthcare system and the public.

The diploma will be delivered through Maspero Academy, which will provide training in presentation, performance, content management, camera work, and media ethics.

The curriculum is being taught by senior academics and practitioners from across the media sector. The programme targets two groups: medical professionals who will be trained to communicate evidence-based information using media tools, and media professionals specialising in health who will develop their ability to present scientifically accurate content in broadcast formats.

Officials said the initiative responds to the need for more precise and timely health communication, particularly in light of recent global health crises that highlighted the impact of misinformation.

The cooperation agreement also includes the provision of healthcare services for employees of the National Media Authority through facilities operated by the General Organisation for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes.
