The campaign raised AED 3.3 billion in one month to support long-term care for orphans across the UAE.
The Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans has been awarded the Guinness World Records title for the 'Most Money Raised for Charity by an Annuity Pledge in One Month' after raising AED 3.3 billion during its first month.
The record was confirmed during a ceremony in Abu Dhabi, where Guinness World Records adjudicator Kanzy El Defrawy announced that the campaign had exceeded the minimum qualifying threshold of USD 270 million, equivalent to around AED 991.5 million.
Launched by the Endowments and Minors' Funds Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi) under the patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the initiative began at the start of Ramadan with the aim of establishing a sustainable endowment to support orphan care across the UAE.
According to Awqaf Abu Dhabi, proceeds from the endowment will be directed toward long-term support for orphans, including education, healthcare, housing and broader social welfare programmes.
