NTRA: Short-Form Video Creators Reach 42.6 Million in Egypt
Streaming platforms recorded 52.4 million viewers and 43.7 million hours daily, up 67% from 2025.
Short-form video platforms recorded 42.6 million users in Egypt in 2026, generating 14.6 million hours of viewing per day, according to the National Telecom Regulatory Authority.
The data, based on a 24-hour usage snapshot, reflects a 60% increase in entertainment content app usage compared with 2025, highlighting continued growth in digital media consumption.
Streaming platforms such as Netflix and Shahid recorded 52.4 million viewers and 43.7 million hours of daily viewing, marking a 67% rise year on year.
The indicators also show broader expansion in internet use across the country, with mobile internet usage increasing by 12% alongside an additional 7.9 million users, while fixed internet usage rose by 36% with one million new subscribers.
The figures represent daily activity levels across major digital application categories, including short-form video and streaming services, offering a snapshot of user behaviour in Egypt’s online ecosystem.
