New Leave Policy & Reduced Work Hours Introduced in Ajman
A new human resources law will introduce updated leave provisions and shorter working hours for government employees.
A new human resources framework introducing reduced working hours and updated leave provisions for government employees is set to come into effect across Ajman government entities on September 1st, 2026.
The legislation applies to all civilian employees working within Ajman’s government sector and forms part of broader efforts aimed at supporting work-life balance and family stability during the UAE’s Year of the Family.
According to the new framework, the Ajman Government Human Resources Department will oversee the review and development of human resources legislation, monitor compliance across government entities and provide technical support for implementation.
The law is intended to create a more flexible working environment while supporting workforce efficiency across the public sector.
The framework also establishes mechanisms for assessing the effectiveness of human resources policies and ensuring consistent implementation across government departments.
