Saudi Arabia Tops International Nuclear Science Olympiad

Saudi Arabia ranked first at the third International Nuclear Science Olympiad, securing two gold medals, one silver and one bronze during the global competition hosted at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
Held from August 2nd to 9th under the theme 'Bright Minds for a Promising Future', the Olympiad brought together 120 students and scientific experts from 19 countries. The results were announced at King Faisal Hall for Conventions following a week of theoretical and practical competitions.
Saudi student Amjad Mahmoud Issa Al-Darwish won the overall competition and a gold medal, earning the title of 'Nuclear Science Ambassador' after achieving the highest combined score across the theoretical and practical examinations. Fellow Saudi student Jana Saleh Abdullah Al-Sabil also received a gold medal and was named the Olympiad's Best Female Student, an award presented by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Saudi Arabia's Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al-Sharait claimed the silver medal, while Saleh Mubarak Dhaifallah Al-Harbi secured bronze, giving the host nation four medals overall.
The Olympiad concluded with the announcement of medal winners after participants were assessed through theoretical and practical examinations, with the highest combined score determining the overall champion.
