Saudi Arabia is expected to experience above-average temperatures throughout August, with the most significant increases forecast for the Kingdom's southwest, according to the National Center for Meteorology's (NCM) Summer 2026 Climate Outlook.

The centre said August is likely to be the hottest period of the season, with temperature anomalies peaking in several regions. Overall, the outlook projects above-normal average temperatures across the Kingdom during the summer of 2026.

According to the NCM, temperatures in Jazan, Al-Baha, and parts of Aseer and Makkah could reach up to 1.6°C above seasonal averages during July and August.

The outlook also highlighted regional differences in rainfall throughout the summer. Rainfall in June is expected to remain near normal across the country, while July is forecast to bring below-average precipitation to Jazan, Al-Baha, parts of Aseer, Makkah, Najran, and the Eastern Province. Other regions are expected to record rainfall closer to seasonal norms.
