Saudi Ports Authority Signs USD 267 Million Jeddah Logistics Deals
The deals increase logistics centres at Saudi ports to 34, including 17 at Jeddah Islamic Port, with more than 384,000 sqm allocated and over 5,000 jobs expected.
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed seven agreements worth nearly SAR 1 billion (USD 267 million) to establish and expand logistics centres at Jeddah Islamic Port and the Al-Khumra Logistics Zone, strengthening logistics infrastructure along Saudi Arabia's western coast.
According to Mawani, the projects support the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub by expanding port capacity and improving supply chain efficiency.
Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Mawani Chairman Saleh Al-Jasser said the new and expanded logistics centres will strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port and Al-Khumra Logistics Zone, reinforce Saudi Arabia's role as a regional and global trade gateway on the Red Sea, and encourage greater private-sector participation through advanced logistics infrastructure.
The seven new logistics centres will occupy more than 384,000 square metres for storage, assembly and re-export operations. Mawani said the projects are expected to create more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, while new cargo handling facilities and digital logistics platforms will help improve operational efficiency and strengthen domestic and international supply chains.
The latest agreements bring the total number of logistics centres across Saudi ports to 34, including 17 at Jeddah Islamic Port, with cumulative investments now exceeding SAR 14 billion.
