Saudi Public Sector Set for Week-Long Eid Al Adha Break
Published 2026 calendars place the public sector holiday period between May 26th and May 31st.
Saudi Arabia’s public sector is set to observe an extended Eid Al Adha holiday period in 2026, with leave regulations linked to the Hijri calendar placing the break from the fifth day of Dhu al Hijjah through the end of the fifteenth day of the month.
Published calendar schedules for 2026 place Arafah Day on Tuesday, May 26th, followed by Eid Al Adha from Wednesday, May 27th to Sunday, May 31st.
According to listed government holiday schedules, official holidays will run from May 27th to May 29th, with additional public sector leave extending through May 30th and May 31st.
Officials note that exact holiday dates remain subject to official moon-sighting confirmations and annual government circulars, although the public sector entitlement itself is fixed by regulation according to the Hijri calendar period.
By comparison, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development states that private sector employees are entitled to a four-day Eid Al Adha holiday beginning on Arafah Day.
