Saudi Red Crescent Handles Nearly 41,000 Emergency Calls in Makkah

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s command, control and medical dispatch centre in Makkah Region received 40,929 emergency calls during October 2026, covering incidents in Makkah, Jeddah and Taif.

The centre operates around the clock, receiving emergency calls, prioritising cases and dispatching medical teams based on urgency. It also coordinates with healthcare facilities to activate specialised medical pathways when required.

The authority said the centre forms a key part of the region’s emergency medical response system, linking callers, ambulance teams and hospitals during urgent incidents.

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority also urged motorists to give way to ambulances responding to emergencies and called on the public to cooperate with medical teams and report incidents through its emergency hotline.
