Saudi Women Outpace Men in AI Tool Usage
More than half of female internet users in Saudi Arabia reported using AI tools in 2025, according to a new report.
Women in Saudi Arabia are using artificial intelligence tools at a higher rate than men, according to the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's Saudi Internet Report 2025, which found that 52.8% of female internet users had used AI tools compared with 39.4% of male users.
Overall adoption of AI tools among internet users reached 45.2%, more than doubling from the previous year, according to the report.
Women reported higher usage than men across several categories, including study and education (42.4% compared with 32.9%), creating images, videos and presentations (29.7% versus 21.6%) and language translation (26.8% compared with 23.4%). Men recorded higher usage for work-related tasks, at 20% compared with 14.6% among women, while information searches were almost identical at 80.8% for men and 80.7% for women.
AI adoption was highest among users aged 20 to 29, with 55.7% reporting usage, followed by those aged 10 to 19 at 53.4%. Usage declined across older age groups, reaching 14.8% among users aged 60 to 74.
The report also found that ChatGPT was the most downloaded AI application in Saudi Arabia, followed by Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Microsoft Copilot. Searching for information was the most common use of AI tools at 80.8%, followed by idea generation (40.1%) and study and education (37.7%).
Beyond AI adoption, the report showed that internet penetration in Saudi Arabia reached 99.6%, while average monthly mobile data consumption rose to 53 GB per person. Median mobile internet download speeds reached 216 Mbps, placing the Kingdom among the top five G20 countries for the indicator.
