Sharjah Police Introduces 50% Fee Relief Package for Businesses
The three-month initiative includes fee reductions, exemptions and regulatory facilitations.
A three-month package of fee reductions and regulatory facilitations has been introduced for businesses in Sharjah following approval by the Sharjah Executive Council, with the measures aimed at reducing operating costs and improving the ease of doing business.
The package includes a 50% reduction in fees for renewing security permits for commercial activities, a 50% cut in subscription fees for security systems administered by Sharjah Police, and a 50% reduction on fines and violations issued to economic establishments.
Companies will also receive a 20% discount on mandatory training programmes, including occupational health and safety courses. All measures will remain in effect for three months from the date of implementation.
The package also introduces a number of exemptions and facilitations for the transport and logistics sector. These include waiving fees for commercial licence certificates for transport businesses, exempting vehicles operated by rental companies, educational institutions and rented bus operators from vehicle age limits and comprehensive inspection requirements, and waiving late vehicle registration renewal penalties where delays do not exceed one year.
In addition, certain traffic code-related violations will be exempted for one year, after which outstanding fines may be settled through instalment plans. Heavy vehicles will also be permitted to operate during project-related restriction periods, subject to prior approval.
