Single Window Traffic Licensing Awaits Approval In Egypt
The proposed system would let applicants make one payment at one counter before completing the remaining licensing steps.
The Interior Ministry has finalised plans for a single-window traffic licensing system that would allow applicants to make one payment at a single counter before completing the rest of the licensing process without further financial transactions. Implementation is awaiting approval from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Interior Minister Major General Mahmoud Tawfik said the system was redesigned to make services easier to access, reduce spending and lower the cost of issuing licences and completing related procedures. He presented the plan during a meeting at the Strategic Command headquarters in the New Capital attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, cabinet members, governors, senior officials, Armed Forces and police commanders, village mayors and specialists.
The proposal follows a series of recent changes to traffic and public services. The Interior Ministry launched a biometric verification application in February for authenticating users accessing government services online, while the Public Prosecution added traffic fine payments and appeals to the Ana Vodafone application in July.
Earlier measures included electronic vehicle registration stickers linked to a central database, while draft traffic law amendments approved by the cabinet in December 2025 proposed tougher penalties for dangerous driving and licensing violations.
