Veteran Egyptian Actress Soheir Zaki Dies at 81
The actress passed away after a period of illness at the age of 81.
Soheir Zaki, the Egyptian actress known for her work across film and television, has died at the age of 78 following a period of illness.
Zaki was widely known for her work in Egyptian cinema during the 1970s and 1980s, with notable roles in films such as ‘El Maganeen el Talata’ and 'El-Fatenah wa el-Salook’.
In television, she took part in a number of series across later years, maintaining a presence on screen beyond her peak film period.
As a dancer, she was famed for helping to establish the classic Egyptian style, and has danced in a wide array of productions, as well as having performed for high profile politicians including Anwar Sadat, Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Richard Nixon.
