Water Regulation Forum to Be Held in Riyadh on November 1st
The forum will bring together regulators and policymakers from 24 countries to discuss water governance, financing and scarcity.
The Saudi Water Authority will launch the inaugural Water Regulation Forum in Riyadh on November 1st, establishing a new annual platform focused on regulatory cooperation across the global water sector.
The forum is being organised in strategic partnership with the International Desalination and Reuse Association and will bring together water regulators, policymakers, experts and sector leaders from around the world.
According to the Saudi Water Authority, the programme will feature 28 speakers from 24 countries, alongside four international organisations and 25 government entities that serve as counterparts to the authority.
Discussions will cover water governance, scarcity management, compliance, utility performance, private-sector partnerships, financing, water reuse and regulatory coordination.
The forum is intended to examine how regulatory frameworks can respond to changes in water resources, service delivery, technology and investment models, while accounting for the different institutional and resource conditions faced by individual countries.
The Water Regulation Forum will take place alongside the International Desalination and Reuse Association World Congress 2026, which will be held in Riyadh from November 1st to 5th under the patronage of Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley.
