World Firefighters Games to Make Saudi Arabia Debut in 2026

The 16th World Firefighters Games will be held in Alkhobar from November 5th to 13th, 2026, marking the first time Saudi Arabia has hosted the international event.

Organisers expect the 2026 edition to be the largest in the event's history, with more than 7,000 firefighters, emergency services professionals, athletes and delegates taking part. More than 200,000 spectators are also expected to attend, alongside participants from over 70 countries competing across 56 sporting disciplines.

Running alongside the games, a Fire and Safety and Health and Wellness Exhibition will take place at Dhahran Expo in Alkhobar from November 6th to 8th. The exhibition will focus on occupational health and safety, functional fitness, recovery and performance solutions, health technology, nutrition, wellbeing, and firefighter-specific training and safety initiatives.

Italian Exhibition Group Arabia (IEG Arabia) has been appointed to organise the exhibition. According to the company, the event will bring together industry brands, organisations and innovators to showcase new technologies and encourage collaboration across the firefighting, health and safety sectors.

The World Firefighters Games is an international multi-sport event held every two years for firefighters and emergency services personnel, combining athletic competition with professional networking and knowledge exchange.
