47SOUL Releases Heartfelt Single 'Ya Kho' From EP ‘Dualism Pt. 1’

47SOUL, the Amman-based band at the forefront of the vibrant Shamstep movement, has dropped their new single and music video, ‘Ya Kho’. This track marks an evocative shift from their usually upbeat sound, arriving just ahead of their upcoming EP, ‘Dualism Pt. 1’.

Inspired by the haunting gaze of Amina, a 13-year-old girl from Gaza, the Amman-based collective - whose members hail from across Bilad Al-Sham, including Amman, the Galilee and Ramallah - explore themes of resilience and loss in the shadow of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The title, meaning ‘My Brother’, serves as a tribute to the bravery of the Palestinian people, capturing the profound pain and unwavering strength felt throughout the region.

The track is written, produced and performed by 47SOUL, with recording and mixing by Dub Caravan and mastering by Mazen Murad in London. The song knits poignant guitar melodies into its core, balancing hope and grief in a way only 47SOUL can, all while staying true to their bilingual roots. This ballad sees Shamstep moving past its familiar Dabke rhythms, focusing instead on a powerful message about safeguarding Palestinian identity. It serves as both a tribute and a song of resistance, expressing both pain and the strength required to maintain cultural preservation.
