Album Spotlight: 3ab3az - Ana Magnoon

Having established himself with a stream of successful Shaabi releases, Egyptian artist 3ab3az’s latest EP ‘Ana Magnoon’ sees the young singer veering into an electro-pop driven style. The EP was released with a handful of animated music videos that explore a retro-futuristic visual style, which draws from cyberpunk aesthetics.

In this SceneNoise interview, 3ab3az walks us through the thinking behind his latest EP, and about using electro-pop to convey his more vulnerable musical ideas, in a style that is upbeat and catchy.

Rising artist Hala Sherif also speaks about her collaboration with 3ab3az on the track ‘Seeb Wa Aseeb’, and how the two naturally found chemistry in their work.

The EP was produced by regional record label Takwene, who have been playing an active role in supporting young voices within the music community.
