Amr Salama's Ziad Zaza-Inspired Film '60 Egyptian Pounds' to Open GFF

Egyptian rapper Ziad Zaza will make his onscreen acting debut in ‘Sixty Egyptian Pounds’, which will be the opening of the sixth edition of El Gouna Film Festival.

Directed by the award-winning Egyptian filmmaker Amr Salama, the short film draws inspiration from Ziad Zaza and Ismail Nosrat's song ‘60 Geneh’. Produced by Beatroot Records and Cineramafilms, the 18-minute film tells the story of Ziad, a gifted young artist grappling with poverty on his journey to stardom.

On top of its world premiere, ‘Sixty Egyptian Pounds’ will also participate in the short film competition at the prestigious festival, taking place from October 13th to the 20th.
