Egyptian Indie Band Sine Drop Ambitious Concept Album 'Tensa Albak'
The 11-track album explores freedom and isolation to the backdrop of world-building, storytelling, and alternative culture.
Cairo-based indie band Sine have officially dropped their new conceptual album, Tensa Albak - an 11-track project that dives deep into themes of conformity, isolation, freedom, and self-discovery.
Following the growing attention around their 2024 debut album Alooly Zaman, the band returned with a much more ambitious and immersive release. Tensa Albak unfolds inside a dystopian world split between two opposing spaces: a rigid, emotionally numb city and a vast, liberating desert that surrounds it. Through that contrast, the album explores the stories of people struggling to break away from the expectations imposed on them.
One of Sine’s defining qualities remains their collaborative structure. Members Akram, Hussein, and Seif all contribute to both writing and vocals, while Akram also handles production and sound engineering, giving the band complete control over their sonic identity.
The rollout surrounding the album has already caught attention online, especially after the release of the lead single As2ela alongside a psychedelic animated music video created by Mostafa Badwy. Blending 2D and 3D animation, the visual introduces the eerie universe of Tensa Albak through the story of a silhouette figure trapped between routine, anxiety, and the horrors of their own mind.
The band also revealed plans for visualizers for all remaining tracks, with every visual connected through recurring characters and motifs living within the same cinematic universe. Alongside the animated content, Sine are expanding the project into short-form videos designed to bring the album’s world into real life.
With Tensa Albak, Sine continues pushing their vision beyond music alone - building an identity rooted in world-building, storytelling, and community-driven alternative culture.
