Little Pink Book & AlphaTheta Launch First MENA ‘Start From Scratch’

Little Pink Book, a talent booking and music platform based between the UK and the UAE providing opportunities for women in music, has teamed up with AlphaTheta to launch the first-ever MENA edition of ‘Start From Scratch’ DJ workshops in Dubai.

‘Start From Scratch’ is an initiative by AlphaTheta (formerly DJ Pioneer) which provides free access to the DJ industry for underrepresented communities across the globe, with free workshops that give aspiring artists the chance to learn the basics of DJing, or improve their skills and gain insights on successful pathways through the industry. All of their workshops are community-led, guided by guest experts from the relevant community, and usually take place at local DJ schools.

Brought in collaboration with Dubai Sound Academy, ‘Start From Scratch’ workshops will offer emerging female artists the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest DJ gear and learn the basics of mixing music, as well as gain insights from global female DJs like MIRA and Off Kourse. 

The workshops will take place at Dubai’s famed nightclub Soho Garden on November 2nd and November 3rd. Participants can choose from four different workshops based on their needs, and a select few will get the opportunity to join Start From Scratch’s exclusive Accelerator Programme after the workshops. The programme includes a full DJ course at Dubai Sound Academy, funded by AlphaTheta, and each graduate will then be invited to play a live set at Soho Garden.
