OSN+ & Anghami Sign Merger to Create Middle East Streaming Giant
Their new ‘super app’ will allow consumers to access their Anghami music libraries and OSN+ video content at the same time.
OSN+, the leading streaming platform in the Middle East, has signed a conditional binding agreement to merge with Abu Dhabi-based music streaming app Anghami. The combination creates a first of its kind online entertainment platform for the region, unifying over 120 million users from two home-grown regional platforms, 2.5 million paying subscribers, and USD 100 million in annual revenue.
The new venture will benefit from OSN+'s premium video library featuring content partners like HBO, NBC Universal and Paramount, combined with Anghami's vast music catalog holding exclusives from regional stars. The combined strength of OSN+ and Anghami positions the new company as an immersive entertainment giant in Middle Eastern streaming, with an expansive library of audio and visual content. The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
