Select 367: Mixed by Ram

Over the last three years, Ram has emerged on Cairo’s evolving underground landscape with a sonic versatility that feels at home in both major clubs and obscure, alternative spaces. In 2024, he delivered a minimal house mix for Select 258, and for his return to SceneNoise’s long-running series, he wades into warmer waters - at least to begin with.

Beginning with a foundation of funky grooves, Ram eventually guides the energy toward a grittier, heavier and more intense pace, trading smooth rhythms for sharp textures and stronger basslines that ease you into a high-energy vacuum - a transition anchored in standout tracks like Masarima’s ‘Freak with U (Egyptian Lover Remix)’, ‘My Japanese Friend’ by JNJS3, ‘Like I Like It’ by Mau P and ‘Ballan’s Patriatchy is Done (Romantic Mix)’.
