The playlist features new music by Bu Kulthoum, Shah and Dar Disku.
In this edition of our Shreet Cocktail playlist, the SceneNoise team selects some of the best recent music releases from across the MENA region, spanning various genres and styles. The playlist features new music by Bu Kulthoum, Shah and Dar Disku.
Acclaimed Syrian artist Bu Kolthoum is back with his new single release ‘Asef’. The track features Bu Kolthoum’s melancholic songwriting over a dreamy instrumental that slowly progresses with thick drums and synth lines. Bu Kolthoum’s lyrics are vulnerable and introspective, veering away from rap and embracing a more intimate vocal performance.
Next is electronic producer Shah with another single from his upcoming album ‘Rehlet El Gammal’. The track, titled ‘So2al Kwayes’, features Logical Da9ud. Shah creates an electronic folk instrumental that lays the foundation for Da9ud to unleash his powerful singing voice, hitting high notes and flowing on the eclectic beat with ease. The track showcases a different facet of Da9ud, who has been experimenting heavily with different underground rap sub-genres.
Further down the playlist, we see Dar Disku with their new release ‘Galbi’, Samar Tarik’s ‘Meraya’ and the latest from Taba2 Tayer titled ‘Men Ta2ta2’.
