Trommel to Make Egypt Debut with PlayHaus April 17
Taking place at Cairo Business Park, the day-to-night showcase features Giammarco Orsini, Charlotte, Ramez and Amr.
Trommel, one of the leading online platforms in the global electronic music scene, is bringing its flagship party series to Egypt for the first time through an open-air special collaboration with Cairo-bred collective PlayHaus on April 17th.
Taking place at Cairo Business Park, the day-to-night affair features a thoughtfully curated lineup, led by two international heavyweights, including Berlin-based Italian DJ/producer Giammarco Orsini, who has long been a formidable force in the underground electronic scene in Europe since 2018. Influenced by Italy’s first generation of underground selectors, Orsini’s sets are both forward-thinking and nostalgic, reflecting his deep musical fluency with a diverse, rare selection of eras that seamlessly bounce from obscure ‘90s electro B-sides to unreleased house cuts, and even minimal house and techno. On the bill alongside him, Charlotte brings a distinctly hybrid approach shaped by time spent across Marseille, Corsica and Barcelona, with a clear pull toward the Romanian school of stripped-back house and techno. Her sets lean into contrast, stitching together disparate club influences without losing coherence.
Joining them on the lineup are two of Cairo’s finest artists: Ramez, a mainstay in the local circuit known for his acid synth-led mixes and productions that take from the disciplines of minimal, house, electro and techno, and Amr, whose rhythmic melodies and constructional mixing techniques have set him apart in the music scene since 2017. His sets often unfold through careful pacing and textural shifts, moving between off-kilter house, ‘90s-leaning breaks and driving electro.
Presented by Human Figures, the event will run from 1 PM to 10 PM. Tickets are available via the link in @trommelmusic's Instagram bio.
