WSLA Conversations: Masha Gasar and Trulson

As we count down to WSLA 2.0 on Thursday 2nd of April, we revisit the debut edition that first introduced Cairo to a shared vision for intentional, high-fidelity listening. The collaborative series between SceneNoise, and WSLA Experience and host Ceryle on the Maadi Corniche, continues its mission of stripping away the noise to focus on listening.

The first edition’s musical programming featured two of Slovenia's most prolific selectors, Masha Gasar and Trulson. Coming from Ljubljana - a small but potent hotspot for electronic music - they arrived at WSLA unsure of what to expect from a Cairo crowd.

As they reflect in the video, that uncertainty quickly turned into a sense of familiarity. They found an audience that mirrored their own commitment to the craft of storytelling. Despite coming from a completely different ‘bubble’ as they refer to it, the connection was immediate because the musical language was the same - a shared appreciation for sets that have depth and intent.

WSLA 2.0 brings that same focus back to Nile Corniche on April 2nd, this time with South Africa's Karmerr and Cairo favourites, Ramez  and Omarino. Attendance is limited to maintain a focused listening environment. Apply and find out more via the Ceryle wesbite.
