XP Conversations: Juno on Live Music Spaces in MENA

Born and raised in Cairo, Jannah Emam aka Juno is an Egyptian singer, songwriter, musician and producer who has been playing music since the age of 10, but it was in 2020 when her music career took off with the release of her first EP ‘Immerse’ with Egyptian producer Hatem El-Chiati. The EP includes her hit song ‘Coloured Mind’, which garnered over 70k listens on Spotify.

Her sound spans across a wide range of different genres, from jazz to indie rock to dream pop and even techno. Juno's curiosity for different music shows as she continues to explore the oceans of sounds.

We sat down with the multi-faceted artist for another issue of #XPConversations, where she talks about her experience at FemmeFest, her struggles as an independent artist in Cairo, and the evolution of live music spaces in the MENA region.
