Dubai Residents Are Being Challenged to Walk One Billion Steps

Dubai Residential has launched a one billion-step challenge across 21 communities as part of the 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, bringing more than 146,000 residents behind a shared activity target.

Running from October 31st to November 29th, the initiative will allow participants to track their daily steps through the fitze app, with every recorded step contributing to the collective total.

Fitness events will also be held in selected communities including Layan, Shorooq, Ghoroob and The Gardens. Activities will include yoga, Zumba, high-intensity interval training, sports challenges and family-focused sessions.

Residents will compete for more than AED 30,000 in Dubai Retail gift cards, with AED 5,000, AED 3,000 and AED 2,000 awarded to the top three participants overall. The highest-performing participant in each of the 21 communities will receive AED 1,000.

Participants will also be eligible for rewards offered through the fitze app during the Dubai Fitness Challenge, with prizes including international trips, staycations, dining experiences and shopping vouchers.

The programme is being organised in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council as part of this year’s citywide fitness campaign.
