Arab Athletes Add Six Medals on Day 4 at the Mediterranean Games

Arab athletes continued their medal run at the Mediterranean Games on Day 4, with Egypt and Algeria adding six medals, tallying up 35 medals for all four Arab nations.

Egypt led the way with five medals, including gold for Mohamed Hamza in men’s foil, while Algeria added a bronze through Oussama Laribi in freestyle wrestling. The latest results bring the Arab medal haul even higher as competition continues across Taranto and the surrounding areas of Puglia.

Gold: Mohamed Hamza, Egypt

Hamza claimed gold in the men’s individual foil, leading an Egyptian sweep of the podium as compatriots Abdelrahman Tolba and Sarah Amr Hosny also reached the medals in the fencing competition. The result added another gold to Egypt’s strong showing at the Games.

Silver: Sarah Amr Hosny, Egypt

Hosny took silver in the women’s individual foil, adding another fencing medal for Egypt. Her result came alongside Hamza’s gold and Tolba’s bronze as Egyptian fencers enjoyed another successful day at the competition.

Silver: Abdelrahman Haitham, Egypt

Abdelrahman Haitham secured silver in the men’s 125kg freestyle wrestling competition. His podium finish gave Egypt another medal from the wrestling events as the country continued to build its haul.

Bronze: Abdelrahman Tolba, Egypt

Tolba won bronze in the men’s individual foil, completing an Egyptian presence on the podium alongside Hamza. His medal also contributed to Egypt’s five-medal haul for the day.

Bronze: Shehabeldin Abdelraouf, Egypt

Abdelraouf added another bronze for Egypt in freestyle wrestling. His result helped make wrestling one of the country’s key sources of medals alongside its fencing success.

Bronze: Oussama Laribi, Algeria

Laribi secured bronze in the men’s -65kg freestyle wrestling after defeating Spain’s Carlos Iglesias Alvarez 14–3 in the bronze-medal bout. His result gave Algeria its only medal of the day and added another wrestling podium finish to its Games campaign.
