Egypt to Host 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations
The EFA said Egypt’s experience hosting continental tournaments, along with its sports facilities and infrastructure, supported its selection as host of the competition.
Egypt will host the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced, after receiving approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and completing the required government guarantees.
The tournament, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, is scheduled to take place in November 2027. Egypt was selected to host the competition due to its experience in staging continental tournaments, as well as its sports facilities and infrastructure.
The EFA, headed by Hany Abou Rida, said hosting the tournament will support the preparation of Egypt’s national teams and strengthen their chances in continental and international competitions.
Egypt is also set to host the North African Football Union (UNAF) U-20 Championship from September 21 to October 6, 2026. The tournament will serve as a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations.
