Sicily’s New Louis Vuitton Café Celebrates the Toarmina Neverfull Bag
The classic LV monogram adorns the restaurant’s finishings.
Along the sun-drenched beaches of the Sicilian Riviera, Louis Vuitton captivates with the opening of its latest creation - Louis Vuitton Cafe by Timeo. Located atop the towering cliffs of the beachside city of Taormina, this boutique and fine dining concept marks the Maison’s first foray into the Italian landscape of fashionable food and fabled dining. Long known as ‘the pearl of the Mediterranean,’ Taormina’s pedigree is one of exquisite glamour and seaside decadence. And now with Louis Vuitton’s anchoring in the famous port an afternoon coffee has never been so chic.

Upon entering the boutique, located at 150 Corso Umberto in Taormina’s charming historic centre, guests are welcomed into Louis Vuitton’s imaginative world. With its frescoed ceilings, traditional Sicilian wallpapers and exuberant design objects, the space is a bright invitation into the fashion house’s latest resort collection - ‘LV By the Pool’. And what a summer splash it makes with its electric blues, soft pinks, golden yellows. As part of its Riviera rebranding, LV’s signature Monogram has been refashioned in a strikingly minimalist mosaic motif (reminiscent of vintage majolica ceramics and mid-century watercolours) adorning the season’s latest jewel, the playful Taormina Neverfull Bag.

While the ground floor expresses the Maison’s vision, the first floor reveals Louis Vuitton’s true palette. The Louis Vuitton Café is a wonder - an intimate 14-seat hideaway overlooking the blue, blue Ionian sea. Partnering with the Belmond’s Grand Hotel Timeo, the café’s menu is a celebration of Sicily’s sweet and savoury traditions albeit, with a nouvelle twist: delicate croissants with pistachio cream, a cloud-like lemon puff, classic arancini with ragú, and of course Sicily’s beloved ricotta filled cannoli.

And as the sun sets on another day in paradise, what better way to welcome the night then with the Maison’s signature Taormina Spritz for the classically Italian tradition of aperitivo - that magical twilight cocktail hour where a both the sea and a Taormina Neverfull never looked so beautiful.
